Centers For Disease Control and Prevention

Bloodlink Foundation is funded mainly by Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) an agency of the US Government .This falls under the U.S. Government’s Presidential Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) intervention for Kenya through the Blood Safety Program.

 


Telkom Kenya Ltd

The Telkom Kenya partnership with Bloodlink Foundation kicks off in May 2009. The partnership is for the university blood donor program, co-sponsorship of World Blood Donor Day and that of participation of Telkom Kenya staff during corporate blood drives to commemorate the organizations 10th Anniversary.

 

Safaricom Ltd

BLF in partnership with Safaricom through the “Safaricom Blood for life Drive,” Campaign. This campaign began in February 2006 and was mainly aimed at increasing the number of units of blood collected during the months of April, August and December when high schools are closed by bringing on board adult donors through awareness creation and education . The partnership with Safaricom " Safaricom Blood For Life Drive" concluded in December 2006. The nation - wide blood donation campaign collected over 7,000 units. Safaricom Ltd won the Association of Donor Recruitment Professionals Organisation (ARDP) awards nominated by Bloodlink Foundation for the “Safaricom Blood for Life Drive” campaign. This year (2008) Safaricom co-sponsored the World Blood Donor Day together with other sponsors of the event. There will be two other blood drives sponsored by Safaricom. The first drive will be held in Kisumu in August and the other in Nairobi in October.

 


Global Blood Fund

Oklahoma Blood Institute through the Global Blood Fund assists selected donor centres around the world by providing them with the equipment and expertise they need.

Bloodlink Foundation is the Global Blood Fund's first donor centre. The Blobal Blood Fund seeks to aid Bloodlink Foundation acquire portable donor beds, digital blood pressure machines, hemocue HB digital machines, digital weight scales, laptops for field use and recruitment, and projectors for donor recruitment. Global Blood Fund has found a way to give globally to developing blood centres. Blood donors in Oklahoma have an option of forgoing donor incentives such as T-shirts, cofee mugs or backpacks, in favour of having the institute contribute an equitable amount to the developing blood centres through the Global Blood Fund.The money will help blood centres in developing countries gain equipment and expertise to ensure their own safe, local blood supply.The Oklahoma Blood Institute hopes to raise 10,000 US Dollars in the first year of the program.
